It’s been forty-six years since my best friend died. I did not go to his wake and I did not attend his funeral. I was so bitter. I decided to move away and live in a different state instead. He was my best friend, my soul mate. We promised to be there for each other until we are old and can barely walk. He died in a car accident on the way home from my 30th birthday party. He drank a bottle of beer and that was it for the whole night, Too bad someone else decided to drink ten bottles and drive home drunk .And of all people he had to hit my best friend’s car. Now I think I’ve held it off for too long. I will go to my hometown and visit his grave. Then I will cry my heart out, something I never did, not once since he died.
